Edibles: A Food & Wine Tasting Event

FACCGN launches its successful event and installs new set of officers for 2017.
The FACCGN or the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Nevada held a kick-off event last September 27, 2016, highlighting the Filipino-American culinary, beverage, and entertainment businesses. Dubbed as "Edibles: A Food and Wine Tasting Event" was the first of a series of themed activities being planned by the FACCGN to revitalize the Chamber and implement a membership recruitment strategy and beef up sponsorship interest.
A culinary talent, a sommelier, and a talent management entrepreneur took center stage and presented their respective businesses to the community. Chefs Barry Bond Picazo and Gloria Escobar of Cutting Board Filipino GastroPub, Master Sommelier Luis de Santos of Southern Wine Glazers and Spirits and Ron Cabildo, Hands-On Executive of Definitive Talents, shared their knowledge and expertise and spoke about their experiences as entrepreneurs and experts in their respective fields. Being a food and wine event, guests were treated to a sumptuous Filipino fare with Cordillera Heirloom Rice and a Wine Tasting Course, which was truly educational.
Within the same venue, a new set of FACCGN officers were installed into office by Marie Cunning, FPACC (Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce) President as the Inducting Officer. Taking their oath of office were: Colette Manauis, President; Ron Cabildo, Vice President, External Affairs; Olive Enriquez, Vice President for Communications; Joel Enriquez, Secretary; Luz Pressley, Treasurer, and Jude Nazareth, Legal Counsel. Immediate Past President, Mita del Fierro, is Ex Officio Member. Certificates of Recognition from the Office of Senator Harry Reid, were presented by Lianne Nishida-Costello, the Regional Representative, to the officers that night.
Noted personalities from the government, business, education and Filipino-American civic communities graced the successful event, which was held at Cutting Board Filipino GastroPub, the newest FACCGN member-business.
