FACCGN 2022 Installation of Officers

On September 22nd at +63FIFTY Central Hall, The Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce Greater Nevada (FACCGN) held its 2022 swearing-in of officers and made its debut as the Creative Chamber. The turnout for the event was better than expected, and the food and refreshments were ample and delicious. 

Throughout the night people from various industries, cultures, political affiliations and ages gathered together to celebrate the dedication of these individuals to work together for the sake of small and medium businesses today and in the future.  The diversity of this community and the willingness of professionals and leaders to come together and promote a creative economically revitalizing future were demonstrated by the resounding success of the night's event.

A Creative Collaboration of Professionals 

The task of showcasing what the Creative Chamber is and bringing to life each member's vision for the event took immense collaboration. The sheer amount of creativity revealed in the planning, execution, and follow-up of the event are clear indicators of the competencies of the chamber’s new officers. 

Of the chamber members directly involved in the oath-taking ceremony, none come from the same industry. From insurance, finance, food, marketing, real estate, healthcare, and a variety of other fascinating but not all that similar businesses, the members were able to bring together the unified vision that attendees enjoyed. 

The ability for strangers and new acquaintances to seamlessly fall into step and successfully execute an event of this order bodes very well for the innovative and, I am sure, ambitious programs, projects, and initiatives the Creative Chamber will unveil over the coming months.

Creative Highlights of the Night

There were many shining moments throughout the night that showcased the ingenuity and resourcefulness of all members to ensure a pleasant evening. While by no means an exhaustive list below are some creative highlights of the night: 

All-Hands-On-Deck Event Set Up - As is the case with all large events or parties the last few hours are never enough for the amount of work that needs to be done. When the deadline draws nearer any job could go to the person closest regardless of their role outside the event. It took all the formally-dressed members running around cutting, taping, and decorating the venue to get everything ready for the night ahead. 

Heartfelt Renditions of National Anthems - Goldie Mabaquiao, the recent recipient of the FAHAM Performing Arts Award and wife to Mark Mabaquiao VP for External Affairs, performed the US National Anthem soulfully, reminding us all of the strength and endurance of the American Dream we have all gratefully participated in. 

In an equally stirring expression of love of country, friendship, and support for all fellow Filipinos, Tess Godinez - health care entrepreneur and VP for membership - performed the Philippine National Anthem to reconnect all of us with our beloved Motherland.

Creative Video of the Chambers Rebranding - Viewers in attendance were able to watch a powerful video demonstrating the evolution of the Chamber. What was once a group championing cultural competencies and business positive programs in local policies has transformed. The New Chamber upholds these crucial values while keeping in stride with a rapidly changing world and setting free visionaries in our communities.  You can watch the video here.

Creative and Optimistic Atmosphere - The creative use of decorations, space, and an engaging program was instrumental in producing a buzz of excitement for the future of business. Musical performances, food and drink options, and a wall of entrepreneurs/businesses with useful products and services created an environment of networking and collaborative energy that is hard to stimulate.

The Creative Chambers Message and Vision 

In harnessing creativity we further promote the development of Filipino-American businesses in Nevada. We serve as the voice and forum for trade and next-level entrepenerurship among our membership. 

To accomplish this we will focus on constantly creating a chamber in which these areas are exemplified:

Creating- As long as individuals are creating and government policies exist to bring these creations to market, figuratively and literally, the collective with benefit. If we as a chamber can consistently encourage our members, our communities, and our State to create more than they consume Filipino-American businesses will prosper. 

Learning - Every day a record is broken, a limit is pushed, things are invented, and facts are updated with the newest and best available data. This is real-time and our chamber is excited about the endless possibilities change represents. Our online presence will build a platform that enables members to learn from each other and be informed about what is actually working for professionals in a variety of fields, today. 

Growing- A Creative Chamber understands that success is an impossible metric to define. Growth on the other hand is not. Business is not a race and growth will be as slow or as fast as it needs to be. Our chamber is a place where your growth will be noticed and celebrated as you unleash your creative passion for the world to enjoy. 

Amplifying- Some businesses are doing a terrific job and some entrepreneurs are making their own money for the first time but they need a boost. The amplify prong of our chamber's initiatives represents our desire to provide informational, bureaucratic, economic, and other bolstering for expanding businesses. 

Differentiating- A Creative Chamber does not like to stand in others' shadows and neither should you. Successes and failures teach us equally valuable lessons, and each of us is destined to shine. Only a chamber that moves beyond the comfortable business models of the past and encourages calculated risk while providing support for missteps will be able to incubate tomorrow’s entrepreneurs. Our chamber provides that support.
